Take on the Banker with Baccarat

For many years, Baccarat was a game that was reserved for high rollers and the gambling elite. However, now everyone can enjoy this game, which is famous as James Bond’s game of choice, thanks to numerous online games with betting limits to suit every budget.

Baccarat is a very simple game, and it will take you just a few minutes to understand how to play. The aim of the game is simple; all you have to do is build a hand of cards that is as close to nine as possible. Unlike in Blackjack, in Baccarat it is not possible to go bust, for reasons explained below.

At the start of a round, you and the dealer are dealt two cards each. In Baccarat, the Face cards and Tens are all worth 0 and the other cards are worth their face value. When you add your cards up then you only pay attention to the final digit, for example if you have a 6 and an 8 then your hand is worth 4, not 14.

If your hand is worth less than five you will be dealt a third card. The dealer does not always draw a third card, there are a number of conditions that need to be fulfilled in order for it to happen, but it will happen automatically, so you do not need to worry about the details.

There are only three possible bets in Baccarat, the Player (you), the Banker (the dealer), or a Tie. If you bet on the correct hand then you win. As the bets are placed before a round begins, once the round starts the outcome is entirely beyond your control. The Player and Banker bets both pay at 2:1, while a tie pays at 8:1.

Some Baccarat games have a number of side bets that you can place for the chance of even more winnings. For instance, you can bet on the two cards dealt to the player or the banker forming various types of pairs, and this way you can win some huge extra payouts.

As you can see, Baccarat is a very straightforward game, but it can provide you with hours of fun, so try it today.
